Consequently, all trade took the form of exchange. Today we call this barter trade. It is, therefore, the exchange of goods. Later, this system changed when promissory notes were issued. These were debt instruments through which we commit to paying a certain amount that we do not currently have available. Checks later took over this function, though promissory notes are still in use today.Over time, money was developed. At first, it was minted from gold, then from silver or copper. This is where the coins we know today began to take shape. Coins now seem more symbolic, as we are in the age of plastic money. These are credit or debit cards. With a credit card, we essentially take out a loan that must always be repaid by the end of the month. If all conditions are met, we pay no interest. However, if we exceed the repayment period, the loan is subject to very high interest rates.Every checking account holder is familiar with debit cards. To open an account, we can use retail or corporate banks. Retail banks focus more on individuals and less affluent clients, so they try to attract customers with free account maintenance, free withdrawals, and other bonus services. As the name implies, corporate banks focus more on companies that hold larger amounts of capital and therefore operate with higher sums. With a debit card, we therefore only have access to the available balance\u2014only the money deposited. Of course, an overdraft can be set up, allowing us to go into the red. Here, repayment is naturally set up so that if we receive a monthly paycheck, the amount owed is automatically deducted, and we don\u2019t have to worry about any fees for the service provided.Today, we encounter finances not only in bank accounts but, thanks to recent trends, also in virtual reality. This offers us, in the form of blockchain, a completely independent yet secure currency that anyone can control. A year ago, it was interesting not only for security reasons but also as a suitable investment commodity. However, due to high volatility, this growth was not sustainable in the long term. 4\/5 - (1 vote) "},{"@context":"https:\/\/schema.org\/","@type":"BreadcrumbList","itemListElement":[{"@type":"ListItem","position":1,"name":"Money as an Indicator of Value","item":"https:\/\/www.diretu.be\/money-as-an-indicator-of-value\/#breadcrumbitem"}]}]
